Bari Candy’s artwork reflects her belief that life is a web of trails, each one taking you to an unexpected place. These places lead Bari to profound personal growth and artistic process perseverance. As the image unfolds, mistakes are created and the path is unpredictable. She uses the mistakes as opportunities. Her body of work has been created to encourage the same personal growth and perseverance in others, specifically for people who are searching for feeling more grounded and whole in their lives.

Bari received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Arizona, with a minor in Art Education, as well as a Master of Education from Northern Arizona University. As an art teacher, Bari explored her own creativity and developed her technical skills through the eyes and hands of the students she taught. After a 15 year career in education, Bari recognized there was more out there for her. Taking a leap from the comfort of life in the city, she sold her house and traveled the northwestern part of the country before finding solace back in the desert. Bari currently volunteers for local non-profits, works on this website and is pursuing ways to give back to the community. Although her vessel no longer warms a classroom, Bari’s heart and life’s work is to help create a better world for our future.

Bari is a lover and preserver of nature and an avid hiker. She is devoted to Eastern spiritual practices and uses these tools in her creative process. Bari resides in New Mexico with her yellow Labrador, Stanley.
